Sacred Geometry enthralls me. The Vesica Piscis, the Flower of Life, the Divine Ratio, the mysterious and inherent balance and perfection of the Universe. The symbols of the zodiac, alchemy and geometry are all mirrored between the planets, nature and our own bodies. The language of the Divine can be found in everything. This is the essence of Pisces. The energy in which we'll be steeped from tomorrow morning at 5:44 am (EST) until Astrological New Year at the Equinox. This is the end of the zodiac. The liminal space, or threshold, between merging with the Universe and the spark of new life.
Qualities of Pisces include compassion, deep intuition and empathy, imagination, creativity, sensitivity and a profound connection to the oneness of Universal energies. Its highest expression is Divine Love and connection. It is a Feminine, or Yin, Water sign and its modality is Mutable. The symbol represents two fish swimming in opposite directions, yet they are still bound together. Pisces is the second zodiac sign traditionally ruled by the planet Jupiter; its modern ruler is the planet Neptune. In the body, Pisces rules over the feet. Extreme Pisces energy can feel so deeply that there can be a tendency to numb the senses with any form of escapism, or to become a martyr. The title of this post is borrowed from the movie Waking Life by Richard Linklater. The movie is a journey during which one cannot quite determine the difference between "reality" and a fantasy or a dream-state. The journey through a liminal space can seem to have no beginning, no ending, adrift in the gentle folds of consciousness and a never-ending encounter with the Divine.
Astrological Aromatherapy - The Signature Oil
The card distills the connection between this oil and Pisces energy so beautifully.
Melissa essential oil (Melissa officinalis), or Lemon Balm, has an ethereal effect and can assist with relaxation into sleep and meditative states. I've read that it can be helpful with the transition between life and death. It also can help support the immune system and reduce germs. It has quite the correspondence with the unseen realms. The Astrological Aromatherapy blend for the upcoming Full Moon in Virgo will feature Melissa.
When I think about Pisces, I am reminded of a quote from A Course in Miracles by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross:
“There are only two emotions: love and fear. All positive emotions come from love, all negative emotions from fear. From love flows happiness, contentment, peace, and joy. From fear comes anger, hate, anxiety and guilt. It's true that there are only two primary emotions, love and fear. But it's more accurate to say that there is only love or fear, for we cannot feel these two emotions together, at exactly the same time. They're opposites. If we're in fear, we are not in a place of love. When we're in a place of love, we cannot be in a place of fear.”
I feel that Pisces energy is meant to teach us to strive for unconditional love as much as possible. To lead with the heart and to do our best to come from a place of love and compassion in all of our actions and responses. To choose love and unity over fear and division. To seek truth and break free from illusions, and to expand into and connect often to the energy of the Universe.
The Divine heart is always there inviting us to surrender to the resonance of its rhythm.
Pisces is the space where I find my tribe in my own chart (11th House). It can be challenging and confusing at times as there has been much ebb and flow throughout my life, just like the tides and mutability of the sea. Recently, there seems to be great expansion and connection with truly like-minded and like-hearted individuals, and a wonderful local community is growing in this space. There is always a lesson and a reminder to surrender. I am forever grateful!
